Avon Simply Pretty BB Cream

Rating: ★★★★ || Price: ₱ 159 || Size: 20 g || Repurchase:  YES NO

Last month I purchased some items on Avon because it is a must to have at least Php 1000 in credits to make my registration valid. I added up the BB Cream since I know for a fact that I can use it and wanted to try their product as well. When I learned that a foundation doesn't suit my face, I immediately opted for a cream and used Pond's as an alternative before applying a blush. But my friend introduced me to the BB Cream products, so I tried a cheap one, afraid that I might not like the results and not wanting to waste money. You can read my first BB Cream review HERE.

Now Avon has BB Cream on their line, and it's a good deal for me if I add them up on my purchase now.

There are two shades available, the nude and the light, but I grab the light one instead. Maybe I'll try the nude shade next time after using up this bottle. When I open up the cap, I giddily press it, and surprisingly the cream bursts out because it is watery compared to the other BB cream I use.

This is the stash of Avon BB Cream. This pea-sized amount is just right for my whole face; just dab it and blend it. I don't apply too much cream right now because it might be harmful for pregnant women, as it contains methylparaben, which is 50/50 on pregnancy risks, but no studies prove that it is really harmful, though it belongs to the class "parabens," which is the most risky chemical.

I noticed that after applying even a small amount, it gives a white result already on my face, and I'm afraid that I might look so whitish with this one, but after a few minutes, it blended well with the skin. I think the skin absorbs it faster than I imagine, so no problem at all. Then I add a little loose powder to even out the cream on my face and avoid oily effects later. It's not really necessarily for others to do that, but I always dab loose powder after the cream and blush-on.

I could have given a 5-star rating on this one because I love the packaging and its effect, but I don't really like the watery part of this BB cream.

  1. I don't really go for BB creams because they don't go well with my skin (unfortunately!!!)

    1. So what do you use instead of creams? A foundation doesn't suit me at all that's why I opted to creams before applying blush on. :)

      Thanks for dropping by Shee!

  2. Great review! I'm eyeing on this too. Good thing you pointed out that it's watery or liquidy. i don't like that too when it comes to supposed to be creamy in texture makeups. I hope you can post an FOTD of this one too. :) I usually dab powder before mascara and after as a finishing touch :)

    1. Thanks Shayne! :) This is the 2nd BB Cream I tried, first one was the Clinique BB Cream but I didn't like it, reminds me, I think I'll write a review with that too.

  4. I haven't tried any BB cream yet. Whew... Oily kasi ako, though I have the Ponds BB cream. I haven't used it pa since I'm waiting for my pimple to clear out (which I think will take forever) I used to buy lip balms from simply pretty line of Avon before.
