Junior Savers Club for Bonchang
Ever since my baby got money from visiting other houses (it is indeed an old wives tale that whenever a baby first visited a house, the owner should give her money when he leaves) I decided to open up an account exclusively for her. Every money she'll receive, I wanted to save it. From the small amount to christmas ampaos, christening and birthday, I wanted to deposit all of it to her own savings account so that when the time comes that we will need money for her education we already have funds and don't have a problem anymore.
Just in time that my baby already have 300 pesos and another 2000+ funds last Christmas. So immediately I asked the BDO bank about the requirements and how can I avail one.
Requirements:
3 pcs 1x1 picture
2 valid ID
Birth Certificate of your child
For my case, I submitted one valid ID only, one bearing my maiden name because I don't have a valid id yet with my married surname. Then I attach our marriage contract along with the Brgy. clearance stating that I am indeed a residence of our barangay.
I fill up 3 forms, one for my details, the other one for my child, and the last one is the summary details of the passbook account containing three signature specimen. After filling up the forms, I write on the deposit slip the exact amount that I wanted to deposit, the first deposit I made. After that, they updated my passbook. Here's what the passbook look like.
I also received the free pencil case (the yellow one under the passbook) but I didn't get the Junior Savers ID card which is use to enjoy the perks and privileges from selected store affiliates. The teller told me that they are still waiting for that card and instructions on how to have one.
I do hope that we really have enough savings before our baby Bonchang starts schooling. I am beyond happy that we started this as early as we can.
